Sheet foam is foam that is one cut from a block of foam. They are not guaranteed to be completely square and they may also sometimes have imperfect edges.

My foam has changed colour – why has this happened?

If your foam has been exposed to sunlight over the long or short term it may discolour. This is because it is not UV protected and therefore may change in appearance. There can sometimes also be slight variations in colour that appear during the process of manufacture. The foam will not be defective and is totally safe to use.

All foam will soften with use, the lower the density of foam the more softening you can expect – on average foam softens 10-15% in use

Why does my foam vary slightly in colour?

It is very normal for foam to have a slight variance in colour however this has no effect on the quality of the product and is just part of the manufacturing process. This will have no effect on the quality of the product.

Why has my foam turned a yellow colour?

Foam changes colour when it is exposed to light and air due to oxidisation, this can make some foam appear slightly yellowish in places – this has no effect on the quality of the product.

Why does my foam smell?

Some foam can have a ‘new foam smell’ which can take several weeks to dissipate – generally this is not noticeable but dependant on the type of foam the intensity can vary. This is a standard part of foam manufacturing and in Layman’s terms is similar to the smell you experience with a new car.
