What Foam Do We Recommend for Sofas?
The best foam to use for sofa cushions is polyurethane foam. But the answer goes further than that. There are lots of different types of polyurethane foam, all with different properties. Choosing the correct sofa cushion foam is all down to the thickness you need and whether they’re back or seat cushions.
Sofa Cushions 1” – 4” (2.5cm – 10cm)
Our GB 39H is perfect for thinner cushions. This firm feeling foam has just enough give when used on thinner cushions and pads to provide the required level of support and shape retention.
Sofa Cushions Over 4” (10cm)
Our GB 41M is a medium feel polyurethane foam that is a perfect replacement for sagging fibre and foam cushions. If your cushions are over 10cm thick this is the foam you should go with for ultimate comfort and shape retention for years to come.
Sofa Back Cushions
Our GB 39S is a luxury soft polyurethane foam. We do not recommend this foam for seat cushions as it is too soft, but it is suitable for sofa back cushions.
