Fireseal™ is a class 0 foam with the highest level of fire resistance possible for a flexible acoustic foam. It has passed the following fire safety tests – BS 476 Part 6 & 7 (Class “0”), EN 13501-1 Euro Class B-s1, d0 and UL94 94-V-0.

This foam is non-fibrous and does not shred through contact with high-velocity airflow. It received a PASS when tested for Air Erosion Resistance (4001 – 6000 FPM) (ASTM C1071-05 12.7). This means that it can be safely used in airflow systems as it does not dust or migrate.

Fireseal Class ‘0’ Foam is also resistant to most fungus and bacteria as it contains anti-fungal agents. When tested for Mildew (Fungus) Resistance (ASTM D-2020-92) it was found to not support growth.

As with all acoustic foam, the acoustic performance of Fireseal improves according to the thickness.

The NRC (Noise Reduction Coefficient) of a 12mm thick random incidence is NRC > 0.27. Meanwhile, a 50mm thick random incidence is NRC > 0.67. This means that a 12mm thick piece can absorb up to 27% of sound wave energy, while a 50mm piece can absorb up to 67%.

Fireseal Class O Foam Sheets are available in thicknesses ranging from ½” to 2”. Each sheet measures approximately 200 cm x 100 cm (78.7” x 39.3”). Please note that sheet sizes may vary slightly as a result of the manufacturing process (+/- 2 cm tolerance).

Fireseal is often used for acoustically treating a wide variety of buildings and is a popular foam for shop fitting. From cinemas to retail stores and office buildings, it can be used to improve room acoustics whilst maintaining high fire safety standards.

Because it has a class o fire rating, this foam can also be used on oil rigs, inside generator rooms to form a fire seal and as a mattress to offer increased protection in prisons and other high hazard environments.
